Ladybird, a 9-year-old canine, was discovered tied up outside a restroom at Destrehan’s Splash Park in Louisiana. Attached to her collar was a note that said, “Please be kind to my dog – I got stranded without a car. I will be back soon. Please give my dog some water. I will return in the morning.”
The animal control agency discovered that the message was garbled, indicating that the black Labrador had been deserted! As a result, the dog was transferred to St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter for safekeeping.
However, the truth was that the owner showed his sincerity by reaching out to the shelter the following day to inquire about Ladybird. He then visited the shelter to explain the circumstances that led to him leaving the dog behind. He shared that he had rescued Ladybird when she was only six weeks old, but due to recent unfortunate events, he found himself homeless and without transportation.
He mentioned his intention to relocate to North Carolina with Ladybird, knowing that his family would provide support. Concerned about the dog’s welfare, the owner received assistance from various rescue organizations such as “Wings Of Rescue”, “GreaterGood”, and “Turning Rescues into Pets” to facilitate their journey to North Carolina.
